I think I would pick Maya Angelou. Not only is she a gifted writer and poet, her delivery of the written word is nothing short of amazing. She could read the ingredients label from a box of cereal and turn it into a spell-binding story!!!!

Actually the Actors Guild, has a website www.storytimeonline.com I think it is that has actors and celebrities reading picture books to children. My Youngest LOVES it.

My students enjoy this site, too, but you mistakenly typed ".com" as the suffix- the url address uses ".net"

Here's the revised url address for those of you who haven't yet visited the site:

Storytime Online

I think I would have to select James Earl Jones....his demanding, strong, and attention grabbing voice would be amazing. Could you just imagine him reading aloud the Captain Underpants series. I could name several that would be wonderful. However if you ask my three year old she would be happy to hear Robert Duval read her anything horse related.

I heard him reading a story called "Teeny Meany" on the radio - a cute little kids story - and it was pretty cool. But I just kept thinking of Darth Vader!!

He's one of the celebrities featured on the site that was mentioned in this discussion thread,
i.e., Storyline Online. If you visit the site, you'll hear him read, "To Be A Drum."

I know I would like Jim Carrey to read to my nine year old daughter with autism.... but my daughter would definately pick Hannah Montana...lol :oP She loves Hannah, shes a crazed fan just like every other kid in america. Jim Carrey is just hilarious!!! I'm a fan. But then again Criss Angel would be great, he could mix some magic in with the story, but then my kids would be soooo excited they wouldn't sleep for a week so maybe he would be not so good for a bedtime story :oP haha

I'd have Marlee Matlin read & sign a bedtime story to me & my kids! Since I'm a Deaf Educator & have used sign language with my kids since they were born, we'd all very much enjoy it.
