Nice to "meet" you, Camilla! I was fortunate to help initiate an inclusion program in the school district where I taught. I had wonderful support from one of the best special ed teachers in the world; she taught me so much about seeing the talents in all children. This was back in the '80's when most classified students were bussed to alternative schools. I still see some of my former students and we all share smiles & lots of hugs to this day!

You obviously have a good friendship with some beautiful tropical birds! :O)

About Me:
I have been teaching Exceptional Children for 35 years. Being an Orton-Gillingham trained tutor, working with Dislexics, I now do private tutoring with students with Reading, Language/Vocabulary, and Written Language skills. I am also an ADD/ADHD Coach. With all of these skills, I previously taught Pre-GED classes for adults who read below 5th grade level.

I have always had the love of reading, passed down from both of my parents now passed down to my two sons. Reading opens doors to the world beyond where most children will ever see. As a quote from one of my previous 5th grade students when asked why he didn't read "chapter" books, just the new beautifully illustrated literature we have for children today: "I love looking at all of the pictures!" This was a 12 year old boy who use to not ever read and lived with his mom and brothers in the projects.
